The original James Bond, Sean Connery, and beloved Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida team up in this British melodrama directed by pioneering British filmmaker Basil Dearden (The Man Who Haunted Himself).

Anthony Richmond, a money-hungry young man, enraged that his rich, dying uncle Charles doesn’t plan to include him in his will, recruits a young nurse, Maria, for a nefarious scheme.

From the Academy Award-nominated writer behind blockbuster hits Firestarter and Conan the Destroyer, Stanley Mann, and adapted from the 1954 novel ‘La Femme de paille’ by Catherine Arley, Woman of Straw was nominated for Best Costume at the 1965 BAFTA Awards.
