Penned by TV and radio’s master of the mysterious, Francis Durbridge, and directed by Wendy Toye (The Stranger Left No Card). Time Is My Enemy (1954) – Small-time crook Martin Radley (Dennis Price) returns home after a long absence to discover his wife Barbara (Renée Asherson) has remarried, believing him killed in the Blitz. Thus the Radleys commence a deadly game of blackmail in this fast-paced, paranoia-laced thriller directed by Don Chaffey (The Man Upstairs). They Can’t Hang Me (1955) – Billed as “a thrill-a-minute story behind today’s atomic headlines,” this Cold War drama follows a senior civil servant (André Morell) who, while awaiting execution for murder, offers to trade the identity of a master spy smuggling atomic secrets in exchange for his life. Directed by the valiant spine-tingler Val Guest (The Quatermass Xperiment).
