Every year, a Mexican village is attacked by Calvera (Eli Wallach) and his brutal bandits and robbed of the harvest. To put an end to the terror, the residents decide to recruit men to defend them against the villains. As a reward, everything the village community has to offer beckons. The adventurer Chris (Yul Brynner) accepts the offer and recruits six more lone wolves. A race against time begins, in the course of which the gunslingers, who could not be more different, become a sworn troop that knows only one goal: to free the village from Calvera forever.
